Welcome, you WEB traveller. You probably landed here while looking some infos about me and my family.
I don't know exactly from where my name comes, but i found it mostly widespreaded in NE France, (Alsace, Lorraine) and Switzerland.
On Internet i even found an armor of coats, which probably belonged to an Egloff family and i'm proudly showing to my friends and family.

I'm born in a city called Thionville located in the north-east corner of France, close to Germany in november 1956. (BRRR, what a cold winter !!). My father was in the army and met my german mother while he was Germany. Therefore, i spent a large part of my youth in Germany and several cities in France.
In 1976, aged 20, i went to the army for my military service and was lucky enough to be sent in a french oversea territory, the "Island of Réunion" in the Indian Ocean. There, i spent a wonderful time, discovering this marvelous island and several others around. All were so different of what i knew ! This gave me the desire to live in such a place under the sun.
Back in France in 1978, i started working for the "Ministry of interior" (our home office) as a radio technician. (Sorry, but nobody is perfect !)
In 1984 i had the opportunity to come to Corsica for my job and did not regret it until now !
When i came here, i was a bachelor but aware of the beauty of Corsica and corsicans girls ! I never visited Corsica before and had only a vague knowledge of what to expect. I've been warned by several friends married to corsicans that this island and her inhabitants were full of contrasts. So i landed a morning of june 1984 with my small car full of junk and no idea where i would sleep for the next days, prepared to stay here only a few years before continuing my life in another place... That was before discovering Corsica.
After several years and several examinations, i'm curently working at the " Préfecture de la Corse du Sud " where i'm responsible of the local representation of the "Direction des Transmissions et de l'Informatique". This computerizing and transmissions direction is given the responsability to set up and develop information processing and treating systems.
I have two wonderful childrens, Valentin and Caroline but unfortunately, i'm divorced now. I have my kids once every 2 week for a complete week, which keeps me very busy but ... happy !

Hi ! it's me, Valentin EGLOFF ! The real man at home.
Dad says he's the best ham (radioamateur for the non specialists and not the famous corsican smocked ham !) in house... Not difficult, he's the only one !
For the moment, i'm interested only in my bicycle, my numerous girlfriends, my video games and my hut in the forest around my grand-parents house in a small village called Parapoggio lost in the corsican mountains, and ....... annoying my sister !
I'm also practising climbing and walking in our mountains with Dad.
Meantime, i have made my own mon propre blog. Sorry, it's in french...

I take dancing courses since several years. I started playing chess and i ike it a lot!
Come back to this page in a few years as soon as i'm able to write you some more interesting news about me and don't have to ask the Webmaster (Daddy) to do it for me ....
